- I have one which was used for a year or so as the main video output
- due to my use of an illegal cable that would shut the agnus down if
- it was attached to the regular db23 connector. The Agnus does NOT
- like standard 75 ohm terminations on its sync signal outputs.
- Hence the buffer chip hidden in the db23 connector in most cables.
- Since fixed here.
-
- As far as video quality IN the genlocking mode, I never used it
- except with an old home BETA machine where it seemed to give a stable
- insert if the insert was more than 20 lines or so down from the top
- of the screen and its headswitching glitches. As I never actually
- used it in a two machine system, I can't say how it then re-recorded
- on the target machine.
-
- Video quality on the monitor itself is indistinguishable from the
- regular db23's output, at least on my Maggy 8CM515 monitors, which I
- consider to be a slightly better monitor than the 1084S is. Thats
- prolly open for debate however, since at one point in the 1084's
- history, it was an 8CM515 with the commie spec input connector!
